Why is band important for students?
Band allows students to gain the experience of performing together in an ensemble.
Band activities for the 2011- 12 school year are as followed:
- Albany State Parade
Albany Christmas Parade – Dec. 3
- All – County Band – Feb. (TBA)
- District Band
- All – Regions
- Symphonic Band
We are the best in the city. No one can compete!
What our students say about our band?
They play good music. They are the best band in the nation. They are straight. They are exciting. They are very good. They are explosive with sounds. They are stars. They support our school. They are very determined. They are dedicated (well some) LOL!! The discipline is okay. The band teaches us to be leaders.
What is Band?
Band is an organized group of musicians performing on brass,
woodwind, and percussion instruments. Our band is a vital part of our
school
that encourages leadership for our students.
What are the fees for summer band camp?
- $180 – 1st year students
- $150 – Upperclassmen
Parent Involvement
We have a lot of parents that support the band. They help us at home games and away games. If the band ever need any support, the parents of band members and the community provide support for us. Parents are also involved in band through the band booster program, in which they chaperone and plan fund raisers for the band.
