In the Dougherty County School System, we offer many choices for your child's education which are available regardless of assigned school zones. You choose the program best suited to your child's interests.

Magnet schools are a long-standing tradition in the Dougherty County School System. The first of our magnet programs, Lincoln Elementary Magnet School, was started in 1982! Magnet programs are now offered at all levels from elementary through high school.

Magnet programs offer a theme or focus that is designed to give students an opportunity to explore a special interest, talent or skill. Teachers in our magnet programs are chosen based on academic preparation, professional experience, and specialized skills.
