Pre-Engineering, Math and Technology Center of Excellence

Monroe Comprehensive High School’s Pre-Engineering, Mathematics and Technology Center of Excellence offers students opportunities to explore a variety of career interests.  In the pre-engineering program students are introduced to varied fields of engineering, such as mechanical, material, structural and civil engineering.  Also, students learn engineering principles, applications and research, design and development.  Students enhance their critical thinking and problem solving skills through individual and team projects.  For engineering, Monroe’s the PLACE to be!

Through the mathematics curriculum students are offered a selection of classes to enhance their educational growth by incorporating mathematical skills that are necessary for success in various careers including engineering, medicine, banking, and computer science. Students have the opportunity to take advanced courses on our campus as well as at our local colleges and university.  For mathematics, Monroe’s the PLACE to be!

Through the Career, Technical and Agricultural Education (CTAE) Department students are offered a variety of technology-enhanced programs.  Courses are offered in:

Admission Requirements:

All applicants to the Center of Excellence must complete an application packet. A screening committee will review all applications and make admissions decisions.  Students selected for enrollment at Monroe High Pre-Engineering, Mathematics and Technology Magnet Center of Excellence are required to meet the criteria outlined below.  Students not admitted to the Center of Excellence may appeal once to the committee.
