Calling All Volunteers!!

 

Volunteer workshops have begun!! We need your help preparing materials, organizing our parent resource room and working on the dinner theatre. Two Wednesdays a month we meet as a group to assist the teachers in preparing materials, as well as, organizing, managing, and promoting other activities at school. Even if you can only come for an hour, we need your help. If you are willing to help, you must have a background check completed.

 

BACKGROUND CHECKS: you must go to the Administration office at 200 Pine Ave. Go to the Personnel office and sign the background form. There is no cost to you. The background check is good for one year. This is a small inconvenience to help insure the safety of all of our students. Thank you for taking the time to help provide a safe school environment.

 

Volunteer workshops will be from 1pm - 2pm, Monday through Thursday. 

 

Upcoming activities:

 

Halloween: We do not have parties for Halloween, but each class usually does a treat bag. If you signed up for this at the beginning of the year, please make sure you contact your teacher as soon as possible to make the necessary arrangements.

 

Dinner Theatre: Every year PTO provides a dinner theatre for the students. This is a wonderful opportunity for the children to dress up and experience a variety of entertainment. What makes this such a hit is that the parents are the servers! We will need your help to pass out plates, fill drinks and clear tables. Please mark your calendars so that you will be available on your child’s day.

            December 13th             2nd -3rd

            December 14th             4th -5th

 

Christmas Party: This will be on December15th. Each teacher should have a few people who signed up to organize the Christmas party. Please check with your teacher to make sure she has enough help for this activity.

 

 Other fund raising activities:

 

Box Tops: Please send General Mill box tops to school. This is an EASY way for our school to earn extra money for PTO. Please check the dates on the box tops. Do not send box tops that have expired, or expirations dates that have been cut off,  as they will not be counted.

 

Publix Cards: We have attached Publix grocery cards. Publix donates a percentage of all purchases we make (if you have them scan your card). If you already have a card, please pass it on to someone else that shops at Publix. We can use all the help we can get!
