Physical Education
The Physical Education program at Lincoln provides students with a variety of activities. Each day class begins with a series of warm-up exercises to prepare muscles for activity. After warm-ups, students participate in an activity with emphasis on either sports skills or another area of fitness.
The Physical Best Fitness Test is given at the beginning and the end of the year. It consists of sit-ups, sit and reach, pull-ups, one mile run and body composition tests. The Physical Best Test measures abdominal strength, upper body strength, flexibility, endurance, and body compositions. I hope you will encourage your child to do his/her best on this test.

Through out the year students have an opportunity to participate in several fun activities held during P.E. class. The Elk's Hoop Shoot is a free-throw shooting contest with the winners from our school going to compete against winners from other elementary schools in Albany. Fourth and fifth graders may volunteer to participate in the Jump Rope for Heart. Students jump rope during P.E. class for one week. Students collect pledges for the American Heart Association to help fight heart disease. This is a very worthwhile event. Students can not collect money door to door.
