WLFS

WLFS is Lincoln's own news program that is broadcast each morning over the central distribution system.  Fifth grade students are chosen to produce, direct, and run the news program each day.  Several crews are selected each year, and this is a great privilege to be chosen to participate.  The fifth grade students are in charge of writing scripts, running the sound equipment, operating the camera, and informing the school community of the day's and future events.  Our fifth grade students do a terrific job!

Lincoln Leaders

In the fall, the 4th and 5th grade teachers recommend students to become Lincoln Leaders. These students serve as role models for other students.  They help before school by working with teachers and other students on various assignments.

Magnet Patrol

Lincoln's Magnet Patrol plays an important part in helping to organize things during the morning breakfast.  The Magnet Patrol consists of fourth and fifth grade students who are recommended by their teachers.  These students show respect, courtesy, and are very responsible.  Their duties are to kindly guide students in placing their belongings in grade level areas during breakfast, and to help students returning from breakfast to find their belongings.  We are very proud of our Magnet Patrol.

Student Council

The Student Council is open to all students in grades 3-5.  All interested students must attend a meeting where they are given expectations of Student Council Representatives.  Those candidates who are interested write a speech explaining why they would make a good representative for their class.  Elections are held after speeches are given to determine who will represent each classroom.

Student Council members participate in school and community projects.  They collect newspapers for recycling, work on Saturdays in the Outdoor Classroom, and raise money to help with different community projects including Habitat for Humanity.  Representatives must attend 2 monthly meetings at 7:30 AM.  They must maintain passing grades as well as good conduct grades.  The representatives work hard to represent their classes and our school.  They do a fantastic job!

Chorus

Lincoln has 2 choruses.  The second and third grade chorus meets each Wednesday from 7:05 A.M. until 7:45 A.M.  The fourth and fifth grade chorus meets on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 7:05 A.M. until 7:45 A.M.

Membership is open to all students having a desire to sing and willing to make rehearsals, keep up with their studies, display good conduct and attend performances.  Parents sign an agreement to have the students present for performances and rehearsals.

The chorus sings for various school activities and community functions.  The chorus exposes the student to a higher level of music literature and provides more in-depth vocal training than is possible in our regular music program.
