First graders' days are filled with challenging and fun activities in reading, language arts, math, social studies, and science.  The children go to the computer lab once a week to work on computer skills.  After Christmas, students begin the Accelerated Reader program to prepare for second grade.  All classes have Physical Education each day, music weekly, and art weekly.

Weekly tests and teacher observation in all subject areas are two of the tools used to monitor our students' progress throughout the year.  A standardized test, the CRCT, is administered in the spring of the year and measures the children's school achievement in reading, language arts, and math.
