Ms.
Eartha Watkins is the longest-standing veteran of the Dougherty
County music education community. Having taught at Robert A.
Cross Middle School (and the former Highland Middle School)
for 24 years, she has also served as assistant and/or interim
band director at all four Albany-area high schools, and has
spent the last several years as Lead Band Director/music coordinator
for the county middle and high school band programs. Ms. Watkins
holds music degrees from Albany State University, Troy State University, and Ohio State
University. She remains a performing saxophonist and sings with
the famed Freedom Singers of Albany, GA.
