Please read below for important
information
from Dr. Pringle.
Our school is committed to bell to bell
instruction. Students must be in their homerooms and prepare
to go to work by 8:15 am. Students who are tardy not only
cause classroom interruptions, but miss valuable instruction
time. Beginning immediately the following tardy plan will be
instituted.
* The practice of excusing tardies when
the parent signs the student in, unless the child has a
doctor's excuse, will be discontinued.
* 4 tardies= 1 day of ISS
* 8 tardies= 2 days ISS
* 12 tardies=3 days of ISS
* 16 tardies= 1 day of home suspension
and placed on probation
*20 tardies= expelled and must return to
zoned school
Please familiarize yourself with this new
policy so that we can ensure that all students are in the
classroom every day and on time.
We also ask that you leave your child at
school until 3:15 pm unless it is absolutely necessary.
Teachers teach until the end of the day. Calling students
out of the classroom interrupts the class and causes your
child to miss part of that class.
Our school is committed to safety and
welfare of every child who attends Robert Cross middle
Magnet School. Please make sure that your child knows what
means of transportation he/she will be taking in the
afternoons. We do not take messages for students.
Students are not called to the telephone or asked to return
calls to parents as this is an interruption to the
instructional learning process. Reminders need to be
given to your child before coming to school.
The first three weeks of school have been
great. We would like to thank parents and students for
making this possible. If you have any questions, please do
not hesitate to call the school.

Robert A. Cross Middle School is a fully accredited magnet program that
specializes in preparing our students to be responsible, achieving
citizens in today’s ever-changing world. All
academic areas receive emphasis, and instructional time is rarely
interrupted. Every student
is taught on the same high level to ready them for higher education, and
tutoring sessions during and after school are available for those who
may need extra instruction.
Academics are also balanced with exploration (connection) classes in the
fine arts, technological skills, and health and physical education.
Parental involvement begins on the first day of enrollment; all
parents sign a contract which makes them an active partner in their
child’s education.
Robert Cross students are
consistently the highest-achieving students on state and
federally-mandated standardized tests, and our alumni go on to even
greater achievements in high school and beyond.
We invite you to take a look at our program for your
middle-school student; we are confident that you will agree that Robert
A. Cross Middle Magnet is your choice for excellence!
