ABOUT RADIUM SPRINGS MIDDLE MAGNET SCHOOL OF THE ARTS

Radium Springs Middle Magnet School of the Arts is a dedicated fine arts middle magnet school for students in grades six through eight who want a wider range of arts opportunities integrated into their school experience. RSMMSA provides a challenging academic program in the core areas of language arts, reading, math, science, and social studies. The faculty and staff are dedicated to providing students with a strong art and academic program to stimulate excellence in artistry and intellectual endeavors.

MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission is doing what is necessary for our scholars to become achievers of academic excellence, artists, and patrons of the arts-without exceptions and without excuses– who become economically sufficient, socially sound, politically astute, and spiritually grounded citizens.

ADMISSIONS AND ELIGIBILITY

Radium Springs Middle Magnet School of the Arts believes integration of fine arts into the academic curriculum increases the potential for success of all students.

In addition to an arts enriched curriculum, the school's mission is doing what is necessary for our scholars to become achievers of academic excellence, artists, and patrons of the arts. interest in the arts, academic achievement and parental participation are the only criteria for selection of students. Prior to enrollment, all students must audition to participate in a specialized fine arts area. Parents are asked to attend parent teacher conferences and perform volunteer services throughout the school term.

Admission to the magnet program is by application on a space-available basis. All students residing in the local attendance area continued to be served. Applications are available at the school and on the Dougherty County School System web site: www.docoschools.org.
