ATHLETIC CRITERIA
Age Requirements
6th Grade: Students must be under 13 years of age before May 1st of their 6th grade year. Sixth graders that turn 13 before May 1st are eligible for 6th grade athletics.
7th Grade: Students must be under 14 years of age before May 1st of their 7th grade year. Seventh graders that turn 14 before May 1st are eligible for 7th grade athletics.
8th Grade: Student must be under 14 years of age before May 1st of their 8th grade year. Players turning 16 before May 1st are deemed ineligible for middle school athletics.
Physicals
Students must have an up-to-date physical on file with RSMMSA. Physicals are good for one year from the date they are signed by the student’s doctor.
Insurance
Students must provide verification of insurance of their physical form. Players without family insurance must purchase school insurance before participating.
Parental Consent
Student must have the parental consent portion of their physical form filled out and signed before they will be allowed to participate.
Academics
Eligibility for 1st semester
- Student must have been promoted to the next grade by passing all classes for the previous grade level.
- Student must have passed all four academic classes for the school year.
- Student must have passed 5 out of 6 classes the previous semester.
- If retained, the student will be ineligible for 1st semester athletics.
