Alice Coachman School's philosophy
is based on the idea that all students can learn and that we must
accept
the challenge of providing greater opportunities for children
to learn. It is our belief that the education of students is the
responsibility
of the school with the support of the parents and community.
Academic achievement and positive communication are shared responsibilities
among teachers, students, the home and community. A high level
of parental and community involvement should exist in the school.
We believe that students learn best in a safe, structured, orderly environment
and that the educational process should not be interrupted by disruptive behavior. We
believe that honesty, sincerity, fairness and consistency are essential qualities
for a positive learning environment.
Our school offers many opportunities
for students to receive a quality education with a variety of educational
experiences that will lead to their personal success. Alice Coachman
provides a rich, conducive environment with high expectations for
learning. Students learn in a positive school climate in which every
child feels a sense of self-worth and acceptance. We have a rigorous
curriculum that will challenge students academically, socially, emotionally,
and physically.
We are extremely proud of our students
and their willingness to strive for academic excellence. Our staff
members are caring, enthusiastic people who are actively involved
in the total well-being of every student. We believe that honesty,
sincerity, fairness, and consistency are essential qualities in providing
a positive learning environment at Alice Coachman Elementary School.
