Southside Middle School is
involved in a number of educational programs that enhance
the student's learning experience. Southside offers after
school tutoring in reading for 8th grade students with plans
to extend this academic enhancement to all grade levels.
Southside offers many educational opportunities outside the
classroom by allowing students the opportunity to
participate in Academic Bowl, and young men to join the
ALPHA Tutoring Program under the supervision of Dr. T.
Marshall Jones, formerly of Albany State University.
Students who are below grade level are encouraged to reach
for academic excellence by utilizing the Title I Math and
Reading programs. Southside further encourages students to
pursue academic excellence for induction into the National
Junior Honor Society.
