I CARE
The ICARE Character Education Curriculum is a powerful parent involvement interactive tool that can be used at home to help increase parental involvement. We believe that when parents are actively involved in their child’s educational journey it guarantees academic success and creates life-long learners. The ICARE Character Development Curriculum is an effective mechanism Sherwood Acres Elementary Magnet School utilizes to help build stronger home to school connections.
Each month a character word is introduced to parents, students, faculty, and the surrounding community to build interactive dialogue. The ICARE monthly feedback form fosters an open line of communication that invites parents to record an observation, comment, and to share skills their children demonstrate at home. It is an ingenious way for parents and teachers to effectively communicate the needs of the students as they continue to grow academically.
Our ultimate goal is to equip both the parent and student with the skills, knowledge, and abilities needed to excel in their academic journey through our interactive Parental Involvement Program and ICARE Character Education Curriculum.
