Emergency Meal Delivery Information
UPDATE: The district has moved to a Monday-Wednesday-Friday delivery model. For more information on that change, click here.
The Dougherty County School System understands that our area has a large population of families that are living at or below the poverty line. In normal times, parents struggle to put food on the table. That situation is only made worse when situations like ours force children to be home unexpectedly for long periods of time. The stark reality is, that for some of our families if a school lunch isn't provided, no lunch is guaranteed for our students.
To meet this need, the Dougherty County School System sought an emergency waiver from the U.S. Department of Agriculture that allows us to serve meals outside of our schools. Beginning on Monday, March 16, 2020, our buses will deliver meals to the stops listed in the links below.
The routes are based around the three high school clusters - Monroe, Westover and Dougherty. The routes are drawn based on school zones for the elementary, middle and high schools in those clusters. The district is delivering two meals - Breakfast and Lunch - for anyone between the ages of 1-18.
Meals are also available at those high schools for pickup.
