SY 2021-2022 SSO Meal Service
The Dougherty County School Nutrition Program serves 12,800 breakfast meals and 16,500 lunches every day. The nutrition program focuses on good nutrition, childhood obesity prevention, and wellness for all students. An average of 55 percent of the total student population eat breakfast and 77 percent eat lunch.
Healthy eating habits are taught daily through our partnership with the Ready, Set, Go Program sponsored by Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Our 25 schools have made innovative changes to improve the nutritional quality of all foods and beverages offered and sold on school campuses. Our goal is to improve the school nutrition environment and to help students eat healthy. Our School Nutrition motto is Feeding Bodies, Feeding Minds.

What is the Georgia School Nutrition Association? Its mission is to advance the availability, quality and acceptance of school nutrition programs as an integral part of education. It is the professional organization of school food service employees in the state of Georgia. GSNA is a non-profit organization founded in 1951 and incorporated in Georgia in 1967. GSNA maintains a headquarters office and professional staff in Tucker, Georgia. GSNA is affiliated with the School Nutrition Association, a national non-profit organization with headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia.

It is a national , nonprofit professional organization representing more than 55,000 members who provide high-quality, low-cost meals to students across the country. The School Nutrition Association (SNA) has been advancing the availability, quality and acceptance of school nutrition programs as an integral part of education since 1946. Its mission is to advance good nutrition for all children. Its vision is healthful meals and nutrition education are available to all children. The SNA works to ensure all children have access to healthful school meals and nutrition education.
