About Merry Acres Middle School:

  • Merry Acres Middle School is involved in a number of educational programs to enhance learning. Merry Acres offers several tutorial programs for students. In-school tutoring takes place through the STAR Program and HB&B after school homework program. Merry Acres is school-wide Title I. Students also participate in the Academic Bowl, Math Counts, and weekly current events. Merry Acres serves as a pilot school for the Learn and Serve Program. The PREP program for seventh and eighth graders is a post-secondary readiness program. Soar To Success is a reading program sponsored by Proctor and Gamble for grades 6, 7, and 8.

Parents serve as volunteers for various activities as well as tutors. Parents also participate in the Parent-Teacher Organization. Parents, as well as community members, are invited to join Merry Acres Students of the Month for a special luncheon each month honoring exemplary students. Other community involvement occurs through the "Support Our School" program sponsored by Sears, JC Penney, and Publix.
