FY2026 Budget Information

Each year, the Dougherty County School System and the Dougherty County Board of Education are required by law to adopt a budget. This budget attempts to predict revenues and expenditures over the course of the 12-month fiscal year that begins each July 1. Before the budget is adopted, the BOE is required to hold two public hearings to gather input from community stakeholders before adopting the budget each year by June 30. 

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS:

 

The Dougherty County Board of Education will hold public hearings of the FY 2026 school system budget.
 The dates for the public hearings are:

May 27, 2025 at 12:00 pm

June 3, 2025 at 6:00 pm

Current Challenges:

The cost to the district to provide health care for its employees has steadily increased. The state, which provides funds to offset the cost to the district for certified employees, has not kept pace with the rising cost.
