Albany Middle Teacher Earns STEM Fellowship

F DavisALBANY, Ga. -- Mrs. Federa Davis has been accepted into the Scaling up for STEM Initiative sponsored by the Northrop Grumman Foundation.  This is a year-long endeavor which will kick off at the National Science Teachers Association conference in March. As part of the fellowship Mrs. Davis will:

  • Engage in online professional learning via a comprehensive NSTA membership package, which will include a variety of web-based professional learning experiences to explore high-quality equitable student learning, STEM careers, and workforce skills utilized by Northrop Grumman scientists, engineers, and technologists;

  • Actively participate in a variety of web-based professional learning activities, including web seminars, and professional learning units;

  • Develop lesson(s), unit(s), and/or project(s) that integrate real-world applications with an emphasis on STEM career awareness and workforce skills based on program experiences; and

  • Assist district administration in building capacity by leading discussions, teacher work groups, and/or professional learning to share program experiences with colleagues.
