Earlier this today, we experienced some unexpected technical difficulties that prevented students from completing the Math Beacon Assessment. To ensure every student has the opportunity to finish strong, we will complete the assessment on Friday, December 5th. Please help us by making sure your child arrives on time, well-rested, and ready to do their best. Your partnership makes all the difference, and we truly appreciate your patience and encouragement. Dear Robert A. Cross Middle Magnet School Families,

We want to make you aware of our upcoming DRC BEACON Assessments, which serve as practice for the Georgia Milestones. According to our winter testing schedule. Students in grades 6–8 will participate in both Reading/ELA and Math assessments.

The DRC BEACON is an adaptive, formative assessment that exposes students to Milestones-style questions using the same testing platform. It also helps us measure academic growth throughout the year and provides valuable data for teachers to tailor instruction to meet each student’s needs.

Please encourage your child to get a good night’s rest, arrive on time, and take their time doing their best on each assessment.

Our Community Engagement Day Picnic, hosted in partnership with our amazing PTO is today! 🕛 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and coolers for an afternoon filled with fun, food, and quality time together! ✨ A day to relax, connect, and enjoy one another Snacks and refreshments will be available for purchase, or families may bring their own lunch. We'll see you at 12 PM!

Save the Date! This is a friendly reminder that Mr. Hall will hold an Interest Meeting on Thursday, November 20th, immediately after dismissal, in Room 412 on the 8th Grade Hall for the DCSS Social Studies Fair.

We're excited to announce that your student now has free, 24/7 access to live, one-on-one tutoring through Tutor.com, paid for entirely by the school district! This resource is available anytime, even late at night, for help with subjects like Math, ELA, and more.

Social Studies Fair Interest Meeting This Thursday! Parents and Guardians, If your child has a topic they are passionate about—or something they’ve always been curious to explore—the Social Studies Fair is a wonderful opportunity for them to dive deeper and showcase their creativity and research skills! Mr. Hall will hold an Interest Meeting on Thursday, November 20th, immediately after dismissal, in Room 412 on the 8th Grade Hall. The meeting will end at 4:30 PM, so please ensure your child has transportation arranged. Students will learn how to select a topic, conduct meaningful research, and create a project they can be proud of. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Hall. Progress Report Grades Are Now Available! Parents and guardians, progress report card grades have been updated and are now available for viewing in Infinite Campus. Please take a moment to log in and review your child’s current academic progress. Additionally, some students received letters today regarding attendance and/or academic performance concerns. 📄 The purpose of these letters is to notify you that we have significant concerns about your child’s progress and to outline specific areas where they may be experiencing difficulty. We encourage all parents to: ✅ Review grades in Infinite Campus ✅ Read any letters that were sent home.(Keep one copy and send one copy back to school signed). ✅ Reach out to teachers if you have questions or need support ✅ Partner with us to ensure every Elite Eagle stays on track for success Thank you for your continued support as we work together to help our students soar! 🦅💙❤️🤍
