Law Day Art Contest

ALBANY - DCSS High School students won the three top awards of a statewide art contest focused on celebrating the courts and law.

The Judicial Council of Georgia/Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC), in collaboration with the Council of Court Administrators, has announced that three DCSS high school students have earned first, second and third place in the 2025 Law Day Art Contest.

High School Category Winners (Statewide):

  • 1st Place: Qe'asia Arnold (Westover High School)

  • 2nd Place: Evelyn Velazquez (Dougherty High School)

  • 3rd Place: Dantasia Thomas (Dougherty High School)

This year’s theme, “The Constitution’s Promise: Out of Many, One,” inspired thoughtful and creative student artwork from across the state. Law Day, held annually on May 1st, honors the role of law in our society and encourages civic engagement among students.

All totaled, the Dougherty County School System had 17 pieces of artwork submitted from 5 schools, representing students in grades K–12.

Additionally, the artwork of Mariah Murry, 1st grader at Lincoln Elementary, is featured among the entry collage on the contest website.
