ALBANY -- Officials broke ground on a new phase of construction projects at Westover Comprehensive High School, paving the way for a new Health and P.E. complex as well as a new three-story academic tower.

Members of the Dougherty County Board of Education, district leadership, Principal William Chunn, construction officials from JCI and representatives of the project's architect SRJ joined alumni and Westover staff and students to toss dirt on the massive new project on Friday, Sept. 12.

Officials estimate that the gym part of the construction project will be completed around Oct. 31 of 2026 with the remainder of the project completed around mid-December 2026.
