AMA

On October 28, Westover's Academy of Medical Arts hosted its first annual Medical Extravaganza Explosion, a dynamic and hands-on event that allowed students to explore clinical skills and diverse health career fields.

Participants engaged in a variety of medical activities including CPR, suturing, and taking vital signs. They also had the opportunity to perform an ultrasound, extract DNA, and view breast tissue and other microscopic images commonly seen in healthcare settings.

In addition to the clinical experiences, students also participated in Zumba exercise sessions, promoting movement, wellness, and fun throughout the day.

This event was made possible through valuable partnerships with The Medical College of Georgia, Albany State University, Albany Technical College, and Phoebe Putney Hospital.

AMA students showcased their knowledge and creativity through exhibits focused on mental health, medical case studies, fitness and wellness, and more. To add a fun touch, a photo booth filled with medical props gave students the chance to celebrate their passion for the health sciences. The Medical Extravaganza Explosion was a truly entertaining and educational experience, a celebration of learning, collaboration, wellness, and the future of healthcare!
