Congratulations to Jaliya Jackson, a rising junior at Westover High School, for being selected as one of more than 150 rising 11th and 12th grade students from across Georgia to participate in the Youth Lead Georgia Summit!
The summit, facilitated by faculty from the University of Georgia’s J.W. Fanning Institute for Leadership Development, was held July 16–17, 2026, on the campus of the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia.
The Youth Lead Georgia Summit is designed to equip students with the skills, knowledge, and experiences needed to become the next generation of leaders in our state. During this two-day program, participants had the opportunity to:
• Experience life on the UGA campus
• Develop and strengthen leadership skills
• Learn more about preparing for college
• Build lasting relationships with peers from across Georgia
• Engage in meaningful discussions about issues impacting Georgia’s youth
The Youth Lead Georgia program, launched with its inaugural class in January 2024, is a partnership with Chick-fil-A and continues to invest in developing young leaders across the state.
We are incredibly proud of Jaliya for representing Westover High School, her community, and the future of Georgia with excellence. Your commitment to leadership, learning, and service is inspiring. Keep striving, keep leading, and keep making a difference!
