In the final moments, Micah Joyner's key steal and layup brought the team within two points. A clutch rebound by Ernest Townsell sparked hopes for a buzzer-beater, but the final play didn't materialize in time, leading to a close defeat.

Albany Middle School Boys Basketball Game Results (Nov. 18, 2024)
On November 18, 2024, Albany Middle School faced Sumter County Middle School, securing a hard-fought victory with a final score of 40-34. The game was marked by a fourth-quarter comeback, where the team overturned a deficit in the final minutes.
Key plays included Detavious Poole’s clutch free throws that sealed the win and standout defensive efforts from Karson Knox and VJ Chambers, who combined for 6 steals, generating crucial turnovers.
Ernest Townsell led the team's scoring with 14 points, contributing 8 rebounds and 2 blocks. Micah Joyner was instrumental with 11 points and 6 assists, enhancing the team's offensive flow. VJ Chambers added 2 points and 3 steals, while Karson Knox contributed 3 points and matched Chambers' steal count. What a thrilling game day for Albany Middle School Girls’ Basketball! On November 18th, our team took on Sumter County Middle School and came out strong with a 36-28 victory!
Zy’Deriaka Harris knocked down a clutch three-pointer in the fourth quarter, while Sarai Hamilton dominated with multiple rebounds and steals!

The Title 1 Meeting at Albany Middle School is an important event that focuses on the educational strategies and partnerships between the school, families, and the community to enhance student learning. During the annual meeting, which took place on October 24, 2024, presentations were made regarding the Compact/Plan for both the school and the district. These documents outline the commitments and responsibilities of teachers, parents, and students in supporting academic achievement. The goal of the Title 1 program is to ensure that all students have access to high-quality education, with an emphasis on improving educational outcomes for those who may be at risk of falling behind.
