Good morning, parents! Please read the message below from our PTO.

This Friday is our first opportunity of the year to show our Lake Park teachers and staff a little extra love! 💙⚓

Our Friday Snacks tradition is a fun way for PTO and our families to treat our amazing staff to a special lunch or treat. This year, we will host Friday Snacks once each quarter, which gives us the opportunity to make each one extra special!

For our first Friday Snacks, we are planning a Walking Nacho Bar! 🌮 After all, we think everyone can agree that Lake Park is “nacho average school,” and we are blessed with “nacho average teachers and staff!” 😊

Please use the SignUpGenius link below to donate an item for the nacho bar. Every contribution, big or small, will help us provide a wonderful lunch for our staff.

We would also love a few parent volunteers to help serve our teachers and staff on Friday! If you are available and would like to help, please let us know.

Good afternoon, Lake Park Families,

1. Today, we experienced a medical emergency at school. During the response, our Crisis Alert System mistakenly announced a "lockdown" throughout the building. Please know that this was not a security threat or an actual lockdown. Throughout the school year, we will conduct required safety drills to help prepare our students and staff for emergencies. Our first scheduled fire drill will take place tomorrow.
2. Classroom Orientation: We hope to see you at Classroom Orientation this evening! Session 1 will be held from 5:00–5:30 p.m., followed by our PTO meeting from 5:30–6:00 p.m. Session 2 will take place from 6:00–6:30 p.m. Your child's teacher will share important information about classroom routines, procedures, expectations, and the exciting year ahead.
3. Friday Dress: Students may wear a Lake Park T-shirt with jeans tomorrow. This will be our standard Friday attire throughout the school year, except on Friday, August 28, which is Yearbook Picture Day. Students should wear their school uniforms on Yearbook Picture Day.

Thank you for your partnership and support. We look forward to a wonderful school year!

Dear Parents and Families,

We would like to share an update regarding the errors identified in this year’s yearbook. We have taken steps to remedy these issues by creating stick-and-peel inserts featuring the correct photos and titles for the affected clubs and team pages.

To ensure your yearbook is corrected, please have your student bring their yearbook back to school. We will gladly place the updated inserts in the appropriate pages for you.

Yearbooks are still available for purchase and are currently being sold at the reduced price of $30.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to make these corrections and ensure our students have a yearbook they can enjoy for years to come.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.

Sincerely,

India Sowell

Good afternoon Kindergarten Families,
Due to the ongoing rain today and expected rain tomorrow morning, Kindergarten Field Day will be Thursday at 8:45, instead of tomorrow. We look forward to our kindergarteners and kindergarten families to have an enjoyable field day.

Dear Parents and Families,

We would like to sincerely apologize for the errors identified in this year’s yearbook. We are aware that the Health Club page was incorrectly labeled as Flag Detail, and unfortunately, the Health Club group photo was not included as intended. We also recognize a few additional minor errors.

We understand how meaningful yearbooks are to our students and families, as they capture memories that will be cherished for years to come. Because of this, we deeply regret these oversights and the disappointment they may have caused.

Although the yearbooks cannot be reprinted, we are taking steps to correct the affected pages. We will provide laminated inserts featuring the correct club and organization photos and titles, as originally intended. These inserts will be distributed to the students and groups impacted once they are completed.

In addition, the cost of the yearbook will be adjusted back to the original presale price of $30 and will no longer be sold for $40.

Moving forward, we remain committed to providing yearbooks that accurately and meaningfully reflect the special moments of the school year. We will implement additional review processes to ensure a higher level of accuracy in future publications.

Again, we sincerely apologize for these mistakes and appreciate your patience, grace, and understanding as we work to make this right for our students and families.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Sowell
